Not sure what's happening with LA weather lately, but it feels like it can't make up it's mind. It changes momentarily, and cold, cloudy mornings sometimes turn into beautiful sunny days. Of course sometimes they don't, that's why when the sun does come out, it certainly much appreciated:)! Because the weather was so nice yesterday, Emil and I decided to visit one of our favorite places, the Getty Villa. Since I knew we were going to be walking around quite a bit, I decided this was the perfect occasion to wear my new flats. Aside from being super comfortable, I am quite obsessed with the gorgeous jeweled uppers, made with real crystals. I also love the fact that the jeweled uppers come in a variety of colors and styles and are interchangeable. At the moment I can't decide between the Glamour and Desire sets. Which one do you guys like best? Or should I just get both?:)

P.S. If you like the sunnies I'm wearing in this post, you're in luck! CLICK HERE to enter INTERNATIONAL GIVEAWAY via BonLook to win 5 pairs of sunglasses, including the ones I'm wearing in this post!

BASICALLY BLACK AT BCBGMAXAZRIA SS2014 EVENT

BCBG studded jacket { also love this option here } & sunglasses { also here } | Pura Lopez gold studded high heel sandals | Nanette Lepore 15 minutes dress { also love it in pink here } | Vita Fede jewelry: mini titan crystal bracelet, original titan bracelet, ultra eclipse crystal midi ring, ultra mini titan crystal ring & Capri 5 wrap bracelet | Proenza Schouler PS11 bag

I wanted to share a few images from an amazing BCBG SS14 Resort Preview event I had the pleasure of attending recently. It was held poolside at the Maison de Soleil, a spectacularly gorgeous home of Lubov and Max Azria, which of course served as a perfect backdrop for resort collections. I wish I could post all the amazing looks we shot that day, because trying to pick favorites was not an easy task at all. But in the end, I chose the ones, which in my opinion, represent the spirit of each collection the most and ... possibly the ones I am personally dying to get my hands on:) I fell in love with black and white color scheme, graphic and floral prints at BCBGMAXAZRIA & BCBGMAXAZRIA RUNWAY, fringe dresses at HERVE LEGER and of course one-of-a-kind, show-stopping gowns at BCBG ATELIER. Oh, and don't get me started on the shoes! I definitely need those ankle-cuff sandals in my life! Preferably in both, black & white:) What about you guys, what are your favorite looks?

SUMMER SEAFOOD & FRUIT SALAD RECIPE

Calphalon immersion hand blender | Schmidt Brothers Cutlery bonded teak series knife, sold as a 7-piece set | Pier One Imports Antique Scroll dinner plate & San Marino oil bottle | Francis Ford Coppola Sofia Monterey County Riesling

If you read my blog on the regular basis and follow my instagram, I am pretty sure by now, you all know what a huge foodie I am. LA has more than a few great restaurants and Emil and I definitely take full advantage of this, sometimes maybe a little too much :) But the truth is, as much as I love going out to eat, I enjoy staying in and cooking something fun just as well. Since my schedule gets pretty crazy, I love it when I can carve out some time just to have a quiet evening all to myself, catch up on my reading, watch something mindlessly fluffy on TV, have a glass of wine and do a little cooking. I call these evenings my "mini celebrations", sort of like a gift to myself I suppose:) This particular seafood salad, which happens to be one of my favorites, is absolutely delicious and super easy to make. I like to pair it with Sofia Monterey County Riesling because it really brings out the flavor of this wine, especially the delicate notes of pears, apricots, white peaches, green apples and pineapple. So, I hope you enjoy this recipe and please let me know if you have any questions!

INGREDIENTS:

4 cups of baby arugula leaves
1 pineapple
2 mangoes
1/2 Lb of fresh strawberries
1 red bell pepper
1 yellow bell pepper
1 fresh lime
1/2 Lb large shrimps
2 table spoons of snipped fresh mint leaves + 3 or 4 leaves for garnish
4 table spoons of extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup of pecan halves
3 tablespoons of sesame seeds
coarse salt & black pepper to taste

PREPARATION:

Start by dicing pineapple, 1 mango and bell peppers into bite-size pieces and chopping strawberries in halves. Once you are done, combine diced pineapples, mango, bell peppers, strawberries, pecan halves and baby arugula leaves in a large bowl. Salt to taste.

For the dressing, combine 1 diced mango, 2 table spoons of sesame seeds, 4 table spoons of extra virgin olive oil and 2 table spoons of mint leaves in a blender or food processor and blend until the mixture is completely smooth.

Season shrimp with salt and black pepper to taste, grill for about 3 minutes, and immediately toss into the salad. Next, arrange the salad on a plate, drizzle with dressing and garnish with remaining sesame seeds and mint leaves. And voila, you are all done!
